e-Spatial appoints a senior analytics consultant – Petrus van der Westhuizen

e-Spatial, the Wellington-based independent spatial consultancy firm, today announced that it had appointed Petrus van der Westhuizen as a Spatial Consultant.

Petrus is a senior analytics professional who joins e-Spatial from BAE Systems Applied Intelligence (London) where he was a Data Developer. His previous roles have been as BI lead at Transport for London, and a GIS Specialist for The Home Office, and London Borough of Tower Hamlets.

Educated at Stellenbosch University, South Africa, Petrus has an MA in Geographic Information Science.   

e-Spatial’s managing director Simon Jellie said, “Petrus’ experience in GIS, analytics, Business Intelligence and data consultancy will complement e-Spatial’s growing consultancy team and comes at a time when we have won significant new business.

“He has had extensive experience in the transport industry as well as having worked across the health, education, media, government, defence and energy sectors in London and Namibia.

“e-Spatial has begun the year with a very strong forward order book due to an increasing demand for independent GIS consultancy as more and more companies and local government authorities realise the potential of applied spatial technology to better deliver their products and services,” Simon Jellie said.
